Best Summer Bar Crawl in Clarendon

Arlington is filled with some of the best bars in the state of Virginia. There are upscale spots in Rosslyn that offer breathtaking views of the Potomac River as well as divey hole-in-the-wall type places that transport you back to your college days. Clarendon has as ton of great options all within walking distance of each other so it’s not uncommon to see groups gathered together doing pub crawls in the neighborhood.

As the weather warms up, it’s a great time to plan a bar crawl with your friends — or hire the experts to plan one for you. Here are a couple spots to check out if you’re planning your own route!

Bar 1 – Circa

Start your Saturday somewhere classy, like Circa in Clarendon. You can get bottomless mimosas for $19 or order beverages a la carte and keep it simple ($4 mimosas during brunch). The food here is especially delicious mid-morning and there are plenty of high top tables and spots along the bar if you didn’t make a reservation in advance. Come early to avoid the crowds and you can usually snag a table.

Bar 2 – The Board Room

Wander down the block from Circa to Board Room for games, beers, and bar food if you’re still hungry. If the weather’s nice, you can sit outside on the large outdoor patio and play scrabble, connect four, or any other classic games they have on site. There’s plenty of space for groups of all sizes and the service is quick!

Bar 3 – Spider Kelly’s

This local spot is a favorite to party the night away. On a Saturday, it’s guaranteed to be bustling, drinks are decent, and it always draws a young, attractive crowd. There’s skeeball, shuffleboard, and plenty of other games to keep the clientele entertained. While it can become a little wild for some, Spider Kelly’s is a great spot day or night for a group of spirited twenty or thirty-somethings.

If you’re not up for planning a pub crawl of your own, Pedal Saloon offers a guided, bike/car hybrid, bar on-the-go. You may have seen groups half-pedaling down Clarendon Blvd at some time or another. It’s a popular bachelorette party activity that allows a group of up to 14 the opportunity to drink outside (under cover) while getting some exercise (albeit, minimal). You can reserve a bar crawl with the Pedal Saloon or join in at a pre-existing tour time. They offer seats on the pedal car every day from 10 am to 10 pm. Sign up to reserve a spot!
